Press the button to watch. It takes about one minute.
Teacher note
Students spin for letters, then have 20 seconds to type a real word that fits the boxes and uses every letter they spun. Three correct words move them up a level. Level 2 means two spins, and the game climbs by itself to Level 7. After Level 7 it stays there until the student presses the reset button on the Play page.
The wheel looks random, but it only lands on letters that can make at least one common word, so no round is impossible. When time runs out, the game shows one word that would have worked.
The built-in dictionary holds about 54,000 words with American spellings. Names, abbreviations, and rude words are left out on purpose, so those get the "not in my dictionary" message. Progress and the certificate are saved in the browser on that one Chromebook. Clearing browser history erases them.
The rules
- Spin the wheel. On Level 2 you spin two times and get two letters.
- Count the empty boxes. That is how long your word must be.
- Type a real word that fills every box and uses all of your letters. Your letters can go in any order. The other boxes can be any letters you like.
- Beat the clock. You have 20 seconds.
- Make 3 words to level up. Every level adds one more spin, all the way up to 7 letters.
