The cupboard swings open and every tail in the hotel starts wagging. There is a biscuit for each guest, and Smoky the cat gets a brand new slipper of her very own.

Your mission

The Pet Hotel is full tonight, and the treat cupboard is locked five ways. The night clerk wrote everything down, but only in bits and pieces. One note alone never tells you the whole answer. You have to put two or three notes together, and when one idea does not fit, cross it out and try the next.

How to crack a lock

• Pick any lock from the menu at the top. You can solve them in any order.
• Read every clue before you start. One clue alone is never enough.
• Use scratch paper. Draw pictures, make lists, and cross things out.
• Tap the buttons to build your answer. Then press "Try the lock".
• A lock will not tell you which part is wrong, so be sure before you try.
