๐ฏ Your mission
The ocean is split into 5 zones, and each one is a completely different world. Your job: dive all the way to the bottom, find a creature in every zone, learn how it survives, and log your discoveries.
Watch out! The deeper you go, the more pressure squeezes your sub. Dive too fast and you'll spring a leak. Take it slow and keep an eye on your hull.
๐ Wild fact: More than 80% of our ocean has never been explored. We have better maps of Mars than of our own sea floor!

Pressure Lab
Why does the deep ocean squeeze so hard?
Air is pressing on you right now: about 15 pounds on every square inch of your body! Scientists call that 1 atmosphere of pressure. You don't feel it because your insides push back just as hard.
Water is much heavier than air. Every 10 meters you go down adds another whole atmosphere of pressure. At 1,000 meters, it's like 100 elephants standing on a dinner plate. At the bottom of the Mariana Trench, it's over 1,000 atmospheres!
๐ฅค Deep-sea scientists tie foam cups to their submarines. The cups come back shrunk to the size of a thimble, and they keep their shape perfectly!
๐งช Experiment: The Shrinking Cup
Send a foam cup down and watch what the pressure does to it. Take it to the bottom!

Deep-Sea Adaptations
How do you survive with no light, no heat, and crushing pressure?
An adaptation is a body part or behavior that helps a living thing survive where it lives. The deep sea is the hardest place on Earth to live, so its animals have some of the wildest adaptations anywhere.
๐ฎ Match the adaptation
Each problem has a solution. Match the deep-sea problem to the adaptation that solves it!
