Lock Quest: The Ice Castle

The ice gate is open!

The gate slides open with a crackle. Inside, a slide made of ice spirals down from the tallest tower. Bamboo goes first. "Wheeee!"

You are now a Lock Master. Go tell your teacher!

Your mission

The gate of the Ice Castle is locked five ways. Everything around you is a solid, a liquid, or a gas. A SOLID keeps its own shape. A LIQUID flows and takes the shape of its cup. A GAS spreads out to fill any space. Add heat, and a solid can melt and a liquid can turn to gas. Take heat away, and it all goes backward. Bamboo the panda left her experiments on the ice.

How to crack a lock

• Pick any lock from the menu at the top. You can solve them in any order.
• Read every clue before you start. One clue alone is never enough.
• Use scratch paper. Draw pictures, make lists, and cross things out.
• Tap the buttons to build your answer. Then press "Try the lock".
• A lock will not tell you which part is wrong, so be sure before you try.
