LEVEL 1/13
Teacher notes

About 8 minutes, 13 short levels. Each level is a chapter, so you can tap the bar above the buttons to jump around. Keyboard: space to pause, left and right arrows to change levels.

The voice is your device's built-in narrator, so it sounds different on each computer. Pick a friendly one in the menu above; on Microsoft Edge, "Ana" is a child's voice the kids tend to love.

  1. Hello! Meet Fibo
  2. Long ago in Pisa: Leonardo, the 0–9 digits, and India's earlier discovery
  3. What a sequence is, and the rule: add the last two
  4. Building the sequence step by step with blocks, up to 21
  5. Your turn: two think-time countdowns (34 and 55)
  6. Leonardo's bunny puzzle, month by month
  7. Fibonacci squares and the spiral
  8. Flower petals: 3, 5, 8
  9. Sunflower seed spirals: 34 and 55
  10. Pinecones, pineapples, and leaves
  11. Spirals in snails, ferns, and galaxies
  12. Hidden pattern: odd, odd, even, and a "why?" question
  13. Boss level: review and a bonus challenge (89)

Discussion idea for level 12: odd + odd = even, and odd + even = odd, so the pattern has to repeat. For a stretch, ask what the sequence would look like if it started 2, 1 instead (those are the Lucas numbers: 2, 1, 3, 4, 7, 11…).
