The Falcon Is Gone!

The Starlight Museum's big gala was in full swing. Two hundred guests were nibbling tiny sandwiches when the lights flickered. There was a gasp. The spotlight snapped back on over Room 4, and there sat the pedestal of the world-famous Sapphire Sun Falcon, a golden bird with two blue sapphire eyes. Only the pedestal. The falcon was gone.

"Nobody leaves!" cried Dr. Marlowe, the curator, fainting onto a very small couch.

Lucy, Selena, Calvin, Larry, and Geo were on a junior-detective field trip. Larry was holding a sandwich in each hand. "Well," he said, "I guess we're on the case."
