The rules
- Your teacher puts you at a table with up to 3 other players. Each player gets a color and 21 pieces.
- Your first piece must cover your corner of the board.
- Every new piece must touch one of your own pieces only at a corner. Your pieces can never touch along a side.
- Other colors can touch yours any way. Block them!
- When nobody can move, the player with the most squares on the board wins. Place all 21 pieces for a bonus!
How to play

The 21 pieces
Start a game room
Show this page on the board. You will get one room code for the whole class.
How it runs
- Every student types the same room code and their real first name.
- Tables fill in the order students join: Table 1 first, then Table 2, and so on.
- When you press Start, the tables are evened out so nobody plays alone.
- Each table plays its own game. Your screen shows every table, stacked.
- When every table is done, all the winners platforms appear together.
Teacher note
- Tables: choose up to 2, 3, or 4 players per table. With 13 students and 4 per table you get tables of 4, 3, 3, and 3. A table of 2 plays on a smaller 14 by 14 board so the game does not drag.
- Game length: a table of 4 takes about 20 to 30 minutes. A table of 2 takes about 10 to 15.
- Turn timer: 30, 60, or 90 seconds per turn, or no timer. When time runs out, that player misses the turn and plays again next time around.
- Absent or stuck students: press Skip turn on that table, or remove the student. A removed student's pieces stay on the board and the rest of the table keeps playing.
- Fair play: the game checks every move, so a piece can only go where the rules allow. Students can try pieces on the board while they wait, but can only place one on their turn.
- Scoring: one point per square on the board. Placing all 21 pieces adds 15 points, or 20 if the last piece was the single square.
- Late arrivals: a student who joins during a game waits for the next one.
- Rooms: a room closes by itself after four quiet hours. Many classes can play at the same time, and every room has its own code.
