How much time just flew by?

Two alarm clocks spin and stop. One shows when something starts. The other shows when it ends. Your job is to work out the time in between.

Every level changes the puzzle. A clock might lose a hand. A clock might go blank. In the last level, you fill the time with activity tickets.

  1. Watch How to Play to learn the hopping trick.
  2. Read the clocks, think it through, and lock in your answer.
  3. Solve 20 spins to unlock the Prize Vault.

Teacher note

This game practices elapsed time on analog clocks, and each level asks for a different kind of thinking. Level 1 finds the time passed, starting with half hours and ending with one-minute times that cross noon. Level 2 gives the time passed and one clock with a missing hand. Level 3 gives the time passed and a blank clock to set, first the end time and then the start time, which means working backward. Level 4 is a puzzle: students find the time passed, then pick the activity tickets that add up to it exactly.

Students get one try per spin. A wrong answer shows the working as hops on a number line, that spin does not count, and the clocks spin to new times. So guessing does not pay. The clocks show no digital time, so students must read the hands.

Students need 20 solved spins across four levels to unlock the prize video. When the video ends, all progress resets to zero. Progress is saved in the browser on that one Chromebook only. No supplies are needed.
