Lock Quest: The Beanstalk Gate

The gate is open!

The gate swings wide. Above the clouds is a garden so big that the pumpkins are the size of houses. Clover hands your team a seed. "Plant it and see."

You are now a Lock Master. Go tell your teacher!

Your mission

At the top of the beanstalk is a gate locked five ways. Every part of a plant has a job. ROOTS drink water and hold the plant in the ground. The STEM carries water up and holds everything tall. LEAVES catch sunlight and make the plant's food, and that food travels down to the rest of the plant. FLOWERS make SEEDS, and seeds make new plants. You eat plant parts every day, and some of them are not the part you think. Look closely and work together.

How to crack a lock

• Pick any lock from the menu at the top. You can solve them in any order.
• Read every clue before you start. One clue alone is never enough.
• Use scratch paper. Draw pictures, make lists, and cross things out.
• Tap the buttons to build your answer. Then press "Try the lock".
• A lock will not tell you which part is wrong, so be sure before you try.
